Best Google Pixel 8 Pro cases in 2024

At just over a year old, the Google Pixel 8 Pro remains a great buy. Google’s Android implementation represents exactly what it wants users to get out of its powerful devices, which still take the best pictures of today’s phones. The 8 Pro is big, powerful, and poised to receive several more Android updates, so it’s worth keeping it safe for the long haul.

We’ve dug into the most reputable brands to find the most precise, protective, and feature-packed covers for your big-screen flagship. Whether you want a hint of sleek safety from drops and bumps, or a bulletproof case that stands up to rigorous use, there’s a Pixel 8 Pro case for anybody, and they’re relatively affordable now that it’s not the absolute newest model.

    Premium pick

dbrand Grip for Pixel 8 Pro

Dbrand skins have long been a favorite, especially the Pixel-exclusive TMNP (Teenage Mutant Ninja Pixels) — and for the Pixel 8 Pro, the Grip case has gotten another major upgrade: MagSafe support. The Pixel 8 Pro might’ve missed the boat for Qi2 support, but even being able to use magnetic phone grips and wallet opens up the Grip case to so many options.

  • i-Blason Armorbox for Pixel 8 Pro

  • peak-design-everyday-loop-pixel-8-pro-case

Peak Design Everyday Loop for Pixel 8 Pro

    $48 $60 Save $12

The Pixel 8 Pro gets the first Peak Design case outside the standard Everyday Case with the Everyday Loop. Compatible with the Peak Design Mobile mounting system and MagSafe accessories, the Everyday Loop helps you get a grip even when none of those are around. This is also the first generation of Peak Design Android cases to get a proper color selection.

  • caseborne-ultra-hybrid-pixel-8-pro-case

Caseborne Ultra Hybrid for Pixel 8 Pro

Known for its extra-rugged cases, Caseborne offers a sleek, slim, clear Pixel 8 Pro case with MagSafe support to show off that iconic Pixel design while also enjoying the benefits of magnetic wireless charging and MagSafe grips. This case claims 21-foot drop protection, but we’d only trust it as far as 10–12 feet, given how thin the material is.

  • caseology-parallax-bayblue-pixel-8-pro-case

Caseology Parallax for Pixel 8 Pro

    $8 $30 Save $22

From the iconic cube pattern across the back to the textured sides and impeccable durability, Caseology’s Parallax has been among our top picks for the Pixel three generations in a row. We’ve found they hold up amazingly well; plenty of users are still rocking past-gen Parallaxes on phones many years old, although unfortunately, the Pixel 8 Pro’s isn’t quite as soft to the touch as in the past.

  • torro-leather-wallet-pixel-8-pro-case

Torro Leather Wallet for Pixel 8 Pro

With digital IDs and tap-to-pay, there’s not much reason to carry a separate wallet anymore, especially when we have posh leather folios like Torro’s. The deep cash flap can hold bills, receipts, and that secret note from the barista, and three card slots will fit your insurance cards, work badge, and a spare credit card should Google Wallet act up again.

It also features raised edges for additional camera protection, so you can be sure your precious phone is safe from accidental damage. If that wasn’t enough, the optional glittery finish adds a cool touch to the otherwise simple look.

  • Poetic Neon Series Case Compatible for Pixel 8 Pro on white background.

Poetic Neon Series for Pixel 8 Pro

If you want to add a dash of color and a touch of style, you can’t go wrong with the Poetic Neon Series. As the name suggests, the case comes in four fun shades, or you can go for classic black if that’s more to your taste. Looks aren’t the only thing here, though. This Poetic case is rugged, with dual-layer protection, and has a grippy back to prevent slips.

The cover flap can also be used as a stand to watch videos without straining your hands. Over time, the leather finish develops a unique patina that adds a personalized touch to the case.

  • Google Silicone Case for Pixel 8 Pro%0A

Google Silicone Case for Pixel 8 Pro

    $28 $35 Save $7

The Google Silicone case is great if you want to keep your Pixel 8 Pro authentic, but still give it a bit of protection. This case keeps the aesthetic that Google intended but does lack a bit in overall protection. Being a first-party case, you can even grab this case in the same color as your Pixel 8 Pro for an almost invisible effect.

  • Torras Magnetic Guardian for Pixel 8 Pro

Torras Magnetic Guardian for Pixel 8 Pro

    $21 $26 Save $5

The Torras Magnetic Guardian comes with built-in MagSafe support and military-grade protection. This case has been tested to survive drops from as high as 12 feet, so you can be sure it’ll keep your Pixel 8 Pro well-protected. What makes this even better is that Torras was able to keep this case thin and light without sacrificing any of those features.

  • A render of the VRS Design Damda Glide Pro wallet case for the Pixel 8 Pro

VRS Design Damda Glide Pro for Pixel 8 Pro

Considerably more sturdy than a folio case, the VRS Design Damda Glide Pro offers rock-solid storage of 3-4 cards in the back, protected by rugged metal framing. It glides open with a touch, resists fingerprints and scratches extremely well, and doesn’t cost a fortune, although it does precent the use of wireless charging due to the thickness and metal.

The wide variety of Pixel 8 Pro case featuresA pale green Pixel 8 Pro case held in a hand.

You’ll see some familiar names at the front of the pack, and for good reason. The Spigen Liquid Air Armor never fails, and provides the Pixel 8 Pro with considerably more protection than you might expect, given its slim design. A subtle texture on the back makes it easy to grip, a feature it shares with the less costly and ever-so-slightly less resilient Caseology Parallax. Google’s first-party cases have turned a significant corner compared to a few years ago, too.

If you’re looking for add-on features, consider the i-Blason ArmorBox. Cases don’t get more rugged than this one, and one of the two front frames it comes with sports an integrated screen protector. The Torras Leather — one of the last few lines still made with premium, natural materials — adds a touch of class, and space for cards and bills. The VRS Design Damda Glide offers a similar amount of space, but with a hard shell and semi-automatic slide-open compartment door.

How much should you spend on a phone case?

Balance matters

Outfitting your high-end phone with a seriously high-end case isn’t hard, either. The Dbrand grip comes out on top, due to premium craftsmanship and a wide selection of designs. The Peak Design Everyday Loop is our favorite fabric-exterior option, and enables the use of Peak Design’s extensive range of accessories. We’ve also listed the Torras Magnetic Guardian, although there are several excellent additional models to consider for adding MagSafe to the Pixel 8 Pro.

Finally, if it’s important to save a few bucks, consider the Ringke Fusion or Poetic Neon. The first is as slim as cases come, and the second has helpful silicone bumpers at key grip points to keep the phone securely in your hands at all times.

After you’ve found the right case, make sure to pair it with a dependable Pixel 8 Pro screen protector. And, whatever you do, don’t fall prey to nonsense marketing like “9H glass hardness” — all glass can withstand scratches from a 9H pencil, making that yet another misleading boast that’s all too commonly seen from manufacturers and retailers.
